The choice of the right product to automate a window is an important decision that must ensure the maximum result. There are basically two types of actuators for windows: those operated by a rigid push rod (driven by a rack or stem) and those operated by a chain. The former can give excellent performance even with heavy loads but they have a longitudinal installation that may not always be acceptable for both physical and esthetic reasons. The latter are characterized by limited size, which makes them better looking and functional. Most small openable windows apply this type of actuator.
The use of chain actuators on windows that open outward or small transom windows (less than 80 cm) must include a special support with rocking arms. This will prevent the chain from being tightened beyond its limit of elasticity. For windows wider than 1.5 - 2 meters, one push point is not sufficient. The action of the wind, the weight of the window frame and the safety of installation recommend application of more than one push point, with a synchronization mechanism.
To facilitate the selection of the type of actuator to apply, we recommend that you use the PRODUCT SELECTION instrument
